As many of you may already know, we just recently opened a new Fairy Tale branch in Northern California! In celebration of this new location we are sharing some of the work we’ve previously done in The Golden State! Emily and Brad had a destination wedding in Laguna Beach, California. They had a tasteful, classy ceremony at St. Catherine of Siena Church, and a lovely reception at the Surf and Sand Resort. The earthy tones and natural decor gave this wedding a truly relaxed Californian atmosphere. Every single detail was beautiful, nothing was pretentious or overdone. The bride wore her hair down in lose ringlets with light makeup in order to achieve the perfect natural look. Her dress gave her the appearance of being draped in lace from head to toe, while her lacy bell sleeves and pastel bouquet perfected her goddess of the sea look. This California wedding was truly beautiful and unique, and we look forward to the pleasure of photographing many more.

Kelli and Blake had a stunning wedding at The Chapel at Ana Villa! Their wedding colors were hot pink and navy. Boy, did this unique combination make for an unforgettable day! While most people associate elegant weddings with soft pastels, Kelli and Blake proved that stereotype wrong. The hot pink was a bold touch that contributed beautifully to this elegant event! Every stunning detail of this day was bold and beautiful!

Rachel and David had a gorgeous, formal wedding at the Tower Club in Dallas. Their wedding colors of purple and silver gave the day a soft, yet elegant and classy atmosphere. The silver sparkly bridesmaid dresses, and bouquets filled with purple and violet hues gave the bride and bridal party the appearance of royalty. The wedding cake was so beautiful and elegant, complete with a trail of violet and white roses cascading down its side. The entire night was made even more magical as the guest could see the city lights of Dallas from the Tower Club windows. What a way to celebrate love!

Sabrina and Thomas had an elegant, winter wedding at Ashton Gardens. Their wedding colors were midnight blue and silver. This beautiful combination was chosen not only for its winter wonderland feel, but mainly because Thomas is a Fort Worth police officer. The fact that Thomas is a Fort Worth police officer played a big role in the small details of the wedding decor. From the tiny handcuffs on Sabrina’s wedding garter to the police car and ambulance beautifully painted in exquisite detail on Sabrina’s wedding shoes, the whole wedding is saturated with the motto “protect and serve.” Sabrina and Thomas will protect and serve each other, just as Thomas protects and serves the community. Sabrina and Thomas are big hockey fans, so naturally, there was a post wedding celebration at the Dallas Stars game! If you look closely, you can see the Dallas Stars logo on the grooms cake! There was nothing cuter than seeing Sabrina and Thomas throw on Stars jersey over their wedding clothes and celebrate the big game right after they celebrated their love for one another! This winter wedding was definitely creative, elegant and fun! There’s just something about the white sparkles on Sabrina’s wedding dress that make her look like a snow queen! If you want to get married during the winter time this is definitely a great way to do it!

Wedding photos always have a touch of magic in them. They capture some of the most special moments of a new couple’s lives. But few wedding pictures truly capture the magic of the “First Look” shots.
What is the first look? Basically, the first look is a staged moment before the ceremony where the bride and groom see each other for the first time. Usually these pictures exclude friends and family, and occur either privately or at least a few feet away from everyone else. These pictures are all about the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. They capture the intimacy, love, and passion between the couple.
Picture this. The groom is looking at the photographer as the bride begins to walk towards him. She’ll tap him on the shoulder, and he turns to see her. His faces captures the wonder at seeing his gorgeous bride for the first time, and her face shows her excitement and love for him.
Once these intimate pictures are finished, the photographer takes the traditional bride and groom portraits, then the group pictures of the bridal party and family.
Although some couples dislike the idea of seeing each other before the ceremony, most couples who have done it say that they are glad they did it this way because it allowed them to relax for the rest of the wedding. And most couples find that taking their pictures first does not take away from the magic of the bride’s appearance at the beginning of the ceremony.
Cailee and Sam both appreciate simplicity, and really wanted to provide a comfortable environment that felt like a beautiful family reunion. Well, they definitely succeeded! The wedding was relaxed, natural and inviting. Soft pinks, bright greens and touches of lace created a stylish and inviting environment. The small touch of French inspiration gave the whole event a uniquely romantic feel! Pies made by family members served as the groom’s cake, and the wedding cake was also made by family. Family was an important part of their big day. In fact, Cailee even wore her great grandmothers ring! Hickory Street Annex was the perfect venue choice for this couples special day.

Denae and Calvin had a stunning January wedding at Piazza in the Village! The inspiration for Denae an Calvin’s wedding came from Denae’s love of soft colors, simple pearls, fresh flowers, winter grays and the elegance of a beautiful chapel. Denae’s mother made the Bible cover that was used to transport the rings down the aisle. Fresh lavender was given to the guest’s at the entrance. What a beautiful winter wedding! The soft violet hues make this wedding simple, yet elegant. The bride’s beautiful hair and makeup was done by The Hair Bar, the delicious cake was made by Moonlight Cakes, and the wedding was completed with pristine floral arrangements done by Grace Britsch.
